CBST at NYC's 53rd Annual Heritage of Pride March

On Sunday, June 25, 2023, CBST was honored to be at the front of New York City’s 53rd Annual Heritage of Pride March, celebrating our flagship 50th year, alongside iconic legacy LGBTQ+ organizations also celebrating their 50th year: Lambda, The National LGBTQ Task Force, and PFLAG.

We were so proud to be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with organizations that are our partners in both joyfully celebrating how far we’ve come since Stonewall in 1969, and recognizing how far there is still to go.

Recently, 19 states have passed laws or policies banning gender-affirming healthcare for young trans people, and nearly 500 bills have been introduced that negatively impact the LGBTQ+ community.

That’s part of why we were so thrilled to learn that, just moments before the Pride March stepped off, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed legislation that protects gender-affirming healthcare for young trans people.

“Today we celebrate the values that define us as New Yorkers: we embrace love and equality, progress and acceptance, unity and celebration,” Gov. Hochul said.

Thank you for your unwavering leadership, Governor!

It was a special moment to celebrate our 50th year with all of you and with this great city. May our community, and the LGBTQ+ community, go from strength to strength.

HAPPY PRIDE!
