Work at CBST

Congregation Beit Simchat Torah (CBST) is a vibrant spiritual community, a progressive voice within Judaism, and a great place to work!

CBST is New York City’s synagogue for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Founded in 1973, CBST is unaffiliated with any movement. Sharon Kleinbaum has served as our Senior Rabbi since 1992.

At CBST, we take pride in our work and in the strong community that we lead, support, and learn with. Our diverse clergy, rabbinical and cantorial interns hail from the Reconstructionist, Conservative and Reform movements of Judaism, as well as from Orthodox communities and non-denominational backgrounds. Our administrative staff and lay leaders bring a broad range of backgrounds, expertise and experience to the CBST community.

When you work at CBST, you’ll be engaged, challenged, and deeply appreciated as a valued member of our mission-driven team.
