It was such a joy on Sunday to start the day of New York City Pride by hosting the annual Jew York Pride brunch at CBST, welcoming our friends from JQY and Keshet, who have been leading this event for years! More than 200 of us ate rainbow bagels, got decked out in rainbow beads and makeup and fans and more, before heading over to the March.
And what a gorgeous day for the Pride March! CBST’s cohort proudly sang and danced and cheered through Manhattan, alongside many thousands of queer and Jewish New Yorkers and those who love us.
In a time when so many narrow, hateful voices would prefer that we be ashamed and disappear, it’s even more important to show our pride and joy in being who we are, and make sure that every young person figuring out that they might be gay or trans or lesbian or gender nonconforming sees visible reminders that they are perfect and beloved exactly as they are.
Happy Pride, in June and all year long!
