About 30 CBST members gathered at Pier 63 at Hudson River Park on Wednesday, July 29, to celebrate Tu B’Av, the “Jewish day of love” in our synagogue’s first member-wide outdoor picnic called “Summer Lovin’.” After a few days of intermittent rain storms, the weather unexpectedly cooperated into a beautiful evening! Members of all different ages, couples and singles, people who’ve been members for decades and brand new members, came together to get to know one another informally and just enjoy outdoor time for a picnic in the park. Everyone had a good time sharing a few bites, a few laughs, and even a few notes of song. If you weren’t able to attend, and you wish you had, please watch the enews and listen to announcements at services for more outdoor picnicking opportunities to come. Now that we experienced how easy it is to throw down a picnic blanket and gather CBST folks around it, we want to repeat it with more friends!.
