CBST Member Seth Marnin Sworn In: First Openly Trans Male Judge in U.S.

CBST member Seth Marnin was sworn in as the first openly trans male judge in the United States on August 14, 2023, at the LGBT Center in New York City. 

Thank you, NY Gov. Kathy Hochul, for making this historic appointment!

Rabbi Kleinbaum was honored to be able to attend and speak at the event, as well as Gov. Hochul, NY Attorney General Letitia James, and CBST member NY Sen. Brad Hoylman. CBST member Judge Roz Richter swore in Judge Marnin.

The rebbetzin, Randi Weingarten, and CBST’s Rabbi Mike Moskowitz, CBST Board Member Tanya Domi, and a group of CBST congregants, also attended the historic ceremony.
