Azeem S. Khan (above) represented CBST’s Ark Immigration Clinic as a panelist at EQNY LGBTQI Advocacy Day 2024 in Albany, NY, on April 17, 2024.

The day started with breakfast and a welcome from community, city, and state leaders, followed by the panel Housing at the Root: Immigrant LGBTQI+ New Yorkers Deserve Safety and Access to Thrive.

Panel discussion topics included the Access to Representation Act, The Green Light Law, IDNYC, and health care, concluding with an audience Q&A.

The second half of the day was comprised of a rally and press conference focused on improving the lives of LGBTQI + New Yorkers, followed by office visits with elected officials, and workshops on wellness, self-care, decriminalizing sex work, and preventing burnout.

The jam-packed day concluded with a recap of the day’s activities, next steps, and a look at how to advance the lives of LGBTQI+ individuals and families.
