We loved showing up this weekend in solidarity with our Qaravan family for Brighton Beach Pride! On the day before Pride month began (erev Pride) we walked on the boardwalk to chant and march with wonderful LGBTQ+ immigrants from Russia, Chechnya, Ukraine, and more.

So many of them fled from countries where their identities were criminalized – and now many are afraid to show up publicly because of the ways immigrants are under attack in this country. We’re grateful that CBST’s Senior Rabbi Emerita Sharon Kleinbaum and Rebbetzin Emerita Randi Weingarten both spoke about this as featured speakers! We will always show up in support of LGBTQ+ immigrants seeking a place where their rights are protected, loudly and proudly.
