"One Voice" and "Oseh Shalom"

Last Shabbat, the CBST community marked its 49th Anniversary. We celebrated with joyful music and prayer, and welcomed back our beloved CBST Community Chorus, a vital part of our service leadership and spiritual community. 

Following the Amidah, the Chorus sang Ruth Moody’s “One Voice,” popularized by the Wailin’ Jennys. “One Voice” is an evocative song that highlights the power of individual voices coming together in harmony. Beginning with just a unison voice part, then adding more voices as the song progresses, “One Voice,” is a celebration of trusting diversity and a multitude of spirits coming together to create a singular, powerful force for good.

“This is the sound of all of us, singing with love and the will to trust. Leave the rest behind, it will turn to dust. This is the sound of all of us.”

After many months of being unable to sing together in person, we pray that we may look ahead to a time filled with the sounds of all of us singing together in harmony!
