Shabbat Beha'alotecha
“Freedom is the enduring quest to be treated fairly. … We know that it is a challenge, whether that be the ancient Israelites, or African Americans, or LGBTQIA friends. People who are forced to live in the dark shadows of society for too long, enslaved by laws, and stigma.” —New York Attorney General Letitia James
New York Attorney General Letitia James was our guest speaker at Kabbalat Shabbat services on June 21. In her remarks, two days after Juneteenth, Atty. Gen. James looked at the ongoing fight for freedom and equality in the United States.
Attorney General James also honored the 32-year legacy of Senior Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum. She praised the vibrant CBST community Rabbi Kleinbaum helped build, and emphasized the importance of carrying on Rabbi Kleinbaum’s legacy of hope, resilience, and unity.
Be in community with CBST at Kabbalat Shabbat services, Fridays at 6:30pm EST, either in person or streaming live.
