Brighton Beach Pride & Celebrate Israel Parade

On Sunday, May 22, Brighton Beach Pride brought hundreds of LGBTQ+ Russian speakers and those who love them to the boardwalk!

Several CBST members and Ark Immigration Clinic volunteers joined our friends from RUSA for the march, and Rabbi James spoke at the rally at the end, emceed by Yelena Goltsman.

And we’re thrilled that Violette Matevosian, who has been volunteering with RUSA-LGBT, is also now our Assistant Immigration Clinic Coordinator!

This year’s Celebrate Israel Parade, also on Sunday, May 22, marked 10 years since the first time openly LGBTQ+ groups were welcomed as marchers.

Half a dozen CBST members marched with the LGBTQ+ cluster, including our friends from JQY, A Wider Bridge, Eshel, and Keshet, proudly wearing t-shirts featuring a rainbow flag with a Jewish star in the middle.

P.S. Save the date now for Jerusalem Pride, on Thursday June 2! Our Jerusalem Open House family will be livestreaming the march on Facebook and we can’t wait.

We’re here, we’re queer, we’re everywhere!
