Lehrhaus Judaica Adult Education
Lehrhaus Judaica is CBST’s Adult Education program: classes of all levels and interests, taught by inspiring instructors. To guide us through this sacred time, our program offers a rich calendar of activities designed to support our spiritual preparations, including text-based learning, spiritual writing, meditation groups, classes on forgiveness and teshuvah, storytelling, and much more.
Since the end of the second night of Passover, we have entered into the period of counting the Omer, where we count the 49 days between Passover and Shavuot. This marks the journey from our first taste of freedom, leaving Egypt, to our first taste of Torah, at Mount Sinai. We count the days from living under the tyranny of Pharaoh to becoming a Jewish people who affirm our commitment to Torah and ma’asim tovim (acts of goodness and justice). This year, in order to sweeten our lives with learning during this 49-day period, we have special pre-Shavuot programming. Join us to deepen our spiritual readiness to receive the Torah anew on Shavuot.

How does this intersect with teachings of contemporary Black and Indigenous teachers about reparations, decolonization and more? Join R’ Xava De Cordova and Binya Kóatz of Yeshiva Shel Maala, a digital-first Queer Yeshiva, for a deep dive into the case of the stolen beam, a custom daf (page) featuring the insights of Black and Indigenous thinkers and revolutionaries on these ideas, and the opportunity to connect deeply with your co-learners and the text.
