Shabbat Behar

In her first drashah as a rabbi, Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Intern Rabbi Aliza Schwartz looks at the social and economic justice implications of the Jubilee Year in the week’s parshah, emphasizing the balance we all must find when it comes to ownership and humility. The text’s radical concepts, Rabbi Schwartz shared with us, invite us all to reflect on our possessions and place in the world.

Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Intern Rabbi Aliza Schwartz delivered this drashah at Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday, May 24, 2024 / 17 Iyyar 5784.

Be in community with CBST at Kabbalat Shabbat services, Fridays at 6:30 p.m. ET, either in person or streaming live on CBST’s website.
