CBST was proudly represented yesterday at the largest group of Jews protesting against ICE’s cruelty, chanting from this week’s Torah portion, Mishpatim: “Torah achat la-ger v’la-ezrach” (there should be one law for the stranger and the citizen) outside ICE headquarters in DC, with hundreds of Jews and allies from across the country.

Rabbi Jason Klein, Rabbi Yael Werber, and Rabbi Marisa James, joined the action, which was organized by T’ruah and Bend the Arc, and emceed by Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum.
We were also proud to see many of our Cooperber-Rittmaster Rabinical Intern alumni! Including: Rabbi Ruhi Sophia Motzkin-Rubenstein, Rabbi Mike Rothbaum, Rabbi Rachel Weiss, Rabbi Adam Graubart, Rabbi Darby Leigh, Rabbi Tracy Nathan, Rabbi Melissa Simon, Cantor Jason Kaufman, Rabbi Ariel, and Cantor Ze’evi Tovlev (not pictured but present, Rabbi Josh Lesser).

Immigrants are divine. Immigrants make America great. Jews
know this well: a society that welcomes immigrants and removes barriers to their building new lives here is a healthy society. And no human being is illegal.
