Shabbat Vayigash

“How do we make room for anger while minimizing the potential for destruction?”

For Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Intern Adam Graubart, the answer is to redirect the energy of anger toward building a better world.

“Let us find safe ways to release the pain that dwells within us,” he said in a drashah on December 22, “[and] channel that anger toward our principles, rather than abandon them in pursuit of revenge or harm.”

He concluded in prayer: “Give us the will to envision an alternative to violence and revenge.”

Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Intern Adam Graubart delivered this drashah at Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday, December 22, 2023 / 11 Tevet 5784.
