Rosanne Leipzig and has been a member of CBST for the past 37 years. In 1988, she and her wife, Ora Chaikin, celebrated the first B’rit Ahavah in the synagogue’s history. Rosanne was co-chair of the Rabbi selection committee, but prior to our hiring a rabbi, she was a frequent ba’alat t’fillah (cantor) for Shabbat and High Holy Days' services. Over the years she has sung tenor, alto, and now soprano in the CBST Community Chorus. During the day, she is a professor and vice chair for education for the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Mount Sinai; and she is currently co-chair of CBST's Task Force on Aging.
