Kenneth Karpel, Secretary

Kenneth Karpel first came to CBST in 1975, and soon met Ira, his husband-to-be. They became bona fide members in 2009 officially married in 2012, and have lived together on the Upper West Side since 1977. He has served on the CBST Board and as co-chair on the Task Force on Aging since 2019, and is our current Secretary to the Board. He is also co-chair of the Senior Rabbi Search Committee.

Kenneth’s professional life as an architect was devoted to public service, including two seminal years in Tunisia as a Peace Corps volunteer/municipal architect, Vice President of Architecture and Engineering for the NYC School Construction Authority, and ultimately as a consultant to various public agencies.
