Rabbi Yael Rooks Rapport, Associate Rabbi

Rabbi Yael Rapport (she/her/hers) was ordained by the Reform Movement’s HUC-JIR in 2015. Prior to her work at CBST, she served as a Chaplain Resident in the Mount Sinai Health System at Mount Sinai Beth Israel focusing on inpatient and outpatient oncology and the Gender Affirmation Surgical Unit. She is a graduate of Brandeis University with a double degree in Near Eastern and Judaic studies and Fine Arts: Art History (summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa). She has spent significant time in Israel and has studied at the University of Haifa.

Rabbi Rapport has a passionate commitment to social justice — she has participated in the American Jewish World Service rabbinic student delegation to El Salvador, completed the Jewish Organizing Initiatives class for seminarians, and volunteered in the Ethiopian community in Israel and the Former Soviet Union Pesach project in Ukraine. Rabbi Rapport is a smart, thoughtful, and engaging person with great depth, both an intellectual and an artist. She is also a certified yoga teacher and a dancer.
