Expanding Our Clergy Team

It is with the greatest joy that we announce that Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Intern Yael Werber has been chosen as the next assistant rabbi of CBST. Her tenure with us will begin August 1, 2022.

“I have had the great privilege of spending the past many months as a Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Intern,” Yael writes, “and I have fallen in love with CBST.

I am honored to have the chance to serve the community in a rabbinic role. I feel especially connected to CBST’s central mission of being an Open Door to all, which is core to who I am as a Jew and as a soon-to-be ordained Rabbi.

I am proud to serve a community that is proudly LGBTQ, and welcoming of Jews on the margins everywhere, as I feel that is Judaism at its best.”

Yael is a devoted learner of texts, who loves mining the Jewish tradition for meaningful and insightful commentary on our modern lives.

She is a passionate teacher, guided by the principle of opening up windows within Judaism to help learners connect more deeply, whether by expanding their already acquired knowledge or by introducing people to new content to help them connect with it for the first time.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Yael as a spiritual leader of our joyful, spiritual, proud community.
