Refugee Shabbat

“Judaism teaches us not to see the refugee crisis as 110 million people, but as one person, and another… each person equally deserving of rights and equally and infinitely holy.” —Rebecca Kirzner of HIAS at CBST’s Refugee Shabbat services

CBST was deeply honored to welcome Rebecca Kirzner as our guest speaker this year, in our role as the national host community for HIAS’ annual Refugee Shabbat.

Rebecca Kirzner, Senior Director of Grassroots Advocacy and Organizing at HIAS, delivered these remarks at Refugee Shabbat services on Friday, February 2, 2023 / 24 Sh’vat 5784.

Be in community with CBST at Kabbalat Shabbat services, Fridays at 6:30 p.m. ET, either in person or streaming live on CBST’s website.

CBST is an LGBTQ+ synagogue for people of all sexual identities and genders and a joyful, spiritual, proud community.

 All are welcome.
