Friends & Family Pride Shabbat

U.S. Rep. Jerrold Nadler (NY-12) encouraged all of us to remain steadfast in pursuit of equality and justice for all, as he has been doing for decades. We’re grateful to have Rep. Nadler as a vocal and active ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

“Once again,” Rep. Nadler said at CBST, “we are called upon to continue our march toward justice, to protect marginalized communities, to ensure that everyone can fully participate in key areas of life, and to provide them recourse in the face of discrimination.”

He continued: “If we can find strength in our principles in our community, we can take on every daunting fight head-on, and know that while it may take a long time, we will ultimately prevail.

“As we celebrate Pride Month, we have much to be thankful for. But we cannot let our guard down. As I continue to fight for equality and justice for all LGBTQ Americans, I take comfort knowing that I have a partner in Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, still standing strong after 50 years, and leading the way in the Jewish community and beyond.”

U.S. Representative Jerrold Nadler was a guest speaker at CBST’s Friends & Family Pride Shabbat services on Friday, June 16, 2023 / 28 Sivan 5783.

Be in community with CBST at Kabbalat Shabbat services, Fridays at 6:30 p.m. ET, either in person or streaming live on CBST’s website (cbst.org/livestream).

CBST is an LGBTQ+ synagogue for people of all sexual identities and genders and a joyful, spiritual, proud community. All are welcome.
