Shabbat Toldot - World AIDS Day Shabbat 2024

“I wondered, how is AIDS going to change my relationships, my relationships with my friends, family, with romantic partners, what was I going to do? So what happened was I found community that I never knew was around because I was just young enough to not be in the thick of it,” guest speaker and CBST member Scott A. Rosenberg, LCSW-R, ACSW, shared at World AIDS Day Shabbat. Scott runs CBST’s “Living Successfully with HIV and AIDS” group, and he in talking about his first support group experience, he said “Holy moly, I met so many wonderful people in there. We talked about so many different kinds of things, and I model the group that I run today for CBST, after that group. That’s how important and vital it is to everybody, not just the people that attend, but the people that know these people in the group that I run at CBST.”

We were honored to have Scott share his experiences with us so openly as guest speaker at CBST’s World AIDS Day Shabbat on Friday, November 29 / 29 Cheshvan 5785.

CBST is an LGBTQ+ synagogue for people of all sexual identities and genders and a joyful, spiritual, proud community. All are welcome 🌈✨
