"Shalom Rav" and "Oseh Shalom"

This setting of “Shalom Rav” by CBST Music Director Joyce Rosenzweig and Cantor David Berger yearns for a peace that seems so elusive at the moment. This text is included in the Amidah each night, offering the opportunity for individual moments of deep prayer and petition.

In this terrible time of dread for the people of Ukraine and the world, we implore God, the Source of Peace, to bring reconciliation “in every season and at every hour.”

CBST stands with the people of Ukraine as they fight for their sovereignty and freedom. (Here’s how you can help right now.)

We follow this prayer by singing the words of Hurit Hirsch’s “Oseh Shalom” together. May the one who makes peace on high, bring peace to us, to all the People of Israel, and to all who dwell on earth.
