CRRI Alana Krivo-Kaufman's Drashah for Parshat Devarim - Shabbat Chazon, 2025

“And truly, I wonder, what bizarre loophole of history are we in, and how do we get out of it? What poetry do we need? What words, what recounting, will anchor us to each other and to the dignity of whole human life, even as everything seems to spin out of control around us. Ayla had Devarim, we move but our words stand become responsible for more than we intended. I wonder, how do we stay with each other? Hear each other, be moved by each other, be changed by what we learn, allow ourselves to continue to act, to speak, to cry, out to debate, to try out new words, knowing that our actions and our words. All have consequences we cannot know.”

Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Intern Alana Krivo-Kaufman gave this drashah on Friday, August 1 / 8 Av. Watch her full talk above.
