Aging Together Group

Aging Together empowers CBST members age 55+ to foster diverse meaningful relationships, access and share important resources, and think strategically about the future. Aging Together is for everyone—partnered, single, with or without children, local or not—because whatever our situation, we’re all Aging Together.

Our monthly Aging Together group is led by Judy Ribnick, LCSW, MA, Director of Aging Together at CBST, along with guest speakers. Register here if you’ve not attended an Aging Together group. One registration covers all meetings. You’ll get an email before each meeting with the Zoom link. Questions? Contact Judy Ribnick at AgingTogether@cbst.org or 917-310-4656.

Good Apologies – They Aren’t Just for the High Holy Days
with CBST Senior Rabbi Jason Klein and member Marjorie Ingall
Monday, September 9, 2024 – 7:30-9:00pm – with a free book giveaway!
The High Holy Days give us a special opportunity to examine our actions, relationships, and to make amends. But this process of teshuvah need not be limited to the Yamim Noraim. Rabbi Klein and CBST member Marjorie Ingall, co-author of Getting to Sorry: The Art of Apology at Work and at Home, will explore “why a good apology is hard to find…and why it doesn’t have to be” through the lens of Jewish texts and Getting to Sorry’s six (and a half!)-step formula.

Getting to Sorry: The Art of Apology at Work and at Home delves into research on why good apologies are psychologically difficult; how to respond to a bad apology; how gender, race, and power affect apologies and forgiveness; and most of all, why good apologies are essential, powerful, and restorative.” The book has been called “an absolute delight – philosophically deep, crisply reported, and funny as heck all the way through” by author Clive Thompson.

Free book raffle!
Thanks to a grant from UJA-Federation of NY, CBST is able to raffle off copies of Getting to Sorry: The Art of Apology at Work and at Home to CBST members. Enter the raffle here by August 21st!
