Sam Rosen (he, him) is a native of Sugar Land, Texas and completed Bachelor’s degrees in Music (Ethnomusicology) and Jewish Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. After five years in Austin, he moved to New York City and earned a Master’s degree in Jewish History at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. During this time, he became an active member of CBST, participating in the renowned CBST Chorus for three years.
Sam is thrilled to return for a second year as CBST’s Cantorial Intern. In Fall 2021, he will be entering his fifth and final year in the Cantorial Ordination program at the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. An avid home cook, Sam loves sharing recipes and culinary creations with friends and family near and far. He is excited to learn from each of you and share his passion for Jewish music, history, and prayer with the CBST community!
