We appreciate your understanding as we strive to provide the best possible experience for program participants & leaders.

Alef Beginners - Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6 - 7:15 pm
Nov. 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24; Dec. 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 22; Jan 5, 7, 12
Those who never studied Hebrew or need a "refresher" will learn to read Hebrew and basic prayerbook vocabulary using the book “Aleph Isn't Tough: An Introduction to Hebrew for Adults, Book 1” (order here). Please have a notebook and pen with you for this class. Taught by Ron Weiss, CBST Educator. Worksheets: Hebrew Vowels, Sh'va Rules, and Hebrew Nouns.

Our summer Alef course continues, using "Aleph Isn't Tough: Book 1" (order here) to finish learning the Hebrew letters, begin learning root words and patterns and some Hebrew grammar fundamentals. Taught by Miya Rotstein, CBST Educator. If you were not in the summer Alef class, take this Alef II Self-Assessment to see if you should enroll or consider the Alef Beginners class.

Our summer Bet course continues with students who are Hebrew-reading ready and recognize basic prayerbook root words. We will use the textbook "Aleph Isn't Enough: Book 2" (order here) and will take a close look at both the familiar and lesser known prayers in our CBST Siddur. Taught by Miya Rotstein, CBST Educator.  If you were not in the summer Bet class, take this Bet II Self-Assessment to see if you should enroll or consider the Alef Part II class.

Lashon Kodesh: The Language of Prayer - Wednesdays, 6 – 7:00 pm
Nov. 4, 11, 18; Dec. 2, 9, 16, 23; Jan. 6, NEW CLASS on Jan 13
With a focus on the application of Hebrew language skills, we will study the evolution of the language of prayer using the CBST siddur, B’chol L’vav’cha (order here).  Taught by CBST Associate Rabbi Yael Rapport in English with text in Hebrew and translation. Students should take Bet II Self-Assessment and be able to read Hebrew accurately and confidently with vowels.
