For the past year, on Monday through Thursday mornings, more than 100 students from near and far have gathered over Zoom to study and celebrate the psalms with CBST’s Senior Rabbi, Sharon Kleinbaum. The class has done close study of the original Hebrew texts, examined a wide range of translations and interpretations, and learned about the psalms in liturgy, literature, music, and art. And they’ve created their own creative offerings, based on the psalms they’ve studied.
Join us on Tuesday, March 16, as Rabbi Kleinbaum hosts a showcase evening for the writers, musicians, and artists of the Psalms Class, as they share poetry, reflections, visual art, music, multimedia, and dance inspired by the texts of the psalms. The program will be followed by an “artists reception” where you’ll be able to raise a glass to the creativity of the class.
CBST offered the Psalms Class to all for free, so that finances would not be an obstacle for participation. We now invite you to consider a contribution to help support this wonderful community and enable us to continue offering a wide range of educational offerings.
We ask Psalms Class students to consider a sponsorship-level donation of $180 – which will be credited in the PDF program for the evening and onscreen – but support at any level is deeply appreciated. For a minimum contribution of $50 you can add a note to be included in the program. Please use the "Additional Notes" box at the bottom of the second page of the registration form. For your sponsorship to be listed in the program, we ask that you make your contribution by Wednesday, March 10. Your form also serves as an RSVP for the event. We will send a link to participate the day-of the program.
