B'nai Mitzvah Program (Grades 6 and 7)

Students study with t’fillah (prayer), Jewish text, holiday celebrations, music, arts, and more. In addition to Limmud B’Shabbat, students engage in additional training to prepare for their B’nai Mitzvah ceremony, connecting them as a community in both cohort and private sessions. In preparation for the B’nai Mitzvah ceremony, students receive:

  • Twice monthly sessions on Shabbat with Limmud faculty for families of upcoming B’nai Mitzvah
  • Personalized, weekly Hebrew sessions
  • Private individualized training sessions with the B’nai Mitzvah Coordinator, clergy and cantorial staff.
  • Preparation for service leadership, learning to leyn (chant) Torah and Haftarah, and deliver a D’var Torah
