Welcome to the Lehrhaus Judaica Adult Education Summer Session 5780 Registration!

Whether you are new to CBST classes, or are continuing in an existing class (such as Psalms Study or Pirkei Avot), we appreciate your registration – this helps us prepare the “zoom” rooms and lets us know of your interest.  Please know our doors (and our zooms) are always open to you! And this summer, all classes are free of charge.

These hourly classes run for 8 consecutive weeks beginning June 29, 2020.  All contributions support Jewish Learning at CBST.  Questions? 9 am Tue + Thu Hebrew "Alef" 

Beginners: For those who never studied Hebrew or need a "refresher.".
Learn to read Hebrew and basic prayerbook vocabulary.
Taught by Miya Rotstein, CBST Educator

11 am Mon + Wed

Hebrew "Bet"

Advanced Beginners: For those who can read letters and vowels 
and are able to complete the Hebrew Bet Class Self-Assessment
Increase your vocabulary and grammar through prayerbook and biblical texts.

  6 pm Tue + Thu Hebrew "Gimmel"

Intermediate: For those who can sight-read Hebrew words and
recognize basic prayerbook root words and are able to complete
the Hebrew Gimmel Class Self-Assessment  
Increase your vocabulary and exposure to grammar, poetry, and liturgical texts.
Taught by Miya Rotstein, CBST Educator

    The following classes are open to those of any skill level or background.
Texts will be provided in original Hebrew and translation.
10 am Mon thru Thu Psalms

Highly interactive, in-depth, ongoing study of the Book of Psalms.
Taught by Rabbi Kleinbaum and other CBST Clergy team members 

6 pm Mon Stories of the Rabbis

Discuss the art of rabbinic story-telling, make Talmud more approachable,
and delve into deep questions.

Cooperberg-Rittmaster Pastoral & Educational Intern

 4 pm Mon thru Thu Pirkei Avot Study

Glean insight from this foundational, deceptively simple text
of Jewish ethical teaching.
Taught by CBST Scholar-in-Residence Rabbi Mike Moskowitz

 6 pm Wed Mishna Brachot - 
How Do We Pray
This exciting rabbinic text lays the groundwork for our prayers today.
