What is Queer Jewish Pride?
Queer Jewish pride is about valuing your whole self, your intersecting identities, and your multiple communities. It is a collective self esteem that can be harnessed for healing, celebration and social justice (tikkun olam). Queer Jewish pride brings us together, but also prioritizes the uniqueness of each of us. Most importantly, while queer Jewish pride is rooted in both Jewish and LGBTQ+ history, it is open & accessible to our friends, families, allies, and frankly, everyone who feels like they belong in this radically inclusive space.

What is Jew York Pride?
Jew York Pride is a brunch gathering of LGBTQ Jewish youth, family and friends that has taken place in NYC on Pride for the last 15 years! This event is a unique partnership consisting of all the New York LGBTQ Jewish organizations, as well as co sponsorships from synagogues, youth groups and Jewish organizations across the tri-state area. At this annual gathering of hundreds of teens, parents, young adults and professionals we celebrate as one community with rainbow bagels, performers, and personal narratives. The bruch culminates in us dancing down 5th avenue as a huge queer Jewish contingent in the Heritage of Pride parade!

What about this year?
As the world unites to battle COVID-19 this year, safety and health must be prioritized. With this in mind, Pride will not be canceled, but it will be different. You can even say, it will be even queerer! While there will be no mass in-person gatherings, there is still an opportunity for us all to be together, apart. With virtual technology we can still eat together, sing together, dance together, and celebrate our whole selves together! So Jew York Pride is still on, and it will actually be more inclusive than ever because now we can invite the whole world to join us.

JEW YORK PRIDE 2020: a Rainbow Brunch Virtual Celebration
Join us for a Zoom Brunch like no other. Registrants will be able to order in or bake your own rainbow bagels & shmeer. We will have a massive icebreaker where your household gets to send in pictures of your rainbow brunch tables. Then the real fun begins. Get ready to be starstruck: this interactive event, produced in collaboration with Adam Kantor (of Broadway & Saturday Night Seder fame) will feature stellar talent from stage & screen, inspirational Jewish leaders, a chance to DANCE, and more! The spectacular program will be an exploration and celebration of what queer Jewish pride means to you. A special focus this year will be on how our queer jewish values commit us to racial justice. Today trans women of color face violence and systemic oppression across this country, and we need to do something. LGBTQ+ Jewish pride means that queer people anywhere are responsible for queer people everywhere. While we value our differences, our destinies are united. This is the true meaning of pride!
