LGBTQ+ Square Dancing at CBST
On Tuesday, September 10, 7pm, NYC's only LGBTQ+ Square Dance Club, Times Squares, brings an exciting evening of square dancing, fun and socializing to CBST! No experience necessary, no square dance outfit, boots, or hat required - but bring 'em if you got 'em!
Learn the basic steps in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Dance to Broadway showtunes, disco, Israeli, and pop tunes. Come alone or with a partner, all ages are welcome, and have a wonderful time! Dancing is eight people per square. Fun and laughs are guaranteed! Light refreshments included. $15/person in advance. $20 at the door.
Times Squares was established in 1984 as a social recreation for LGBTQ+ folks, and right from the start has enjoyed introducing people to square dancing. Times Squares is a member of the International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs, frequently dancing with other clubs, as well as at the IAGSDC’s annual convention, and at the Museum of Flight in Seattle last year. Next year the convention will be in Denver, and later this fall Times Squares will provide a special opportunity for new dancers to learn all the essential steps to be able to dance there.
