Shabbat Hol Hamoed Sukkot
Celebrating the fragility and sanctuary of Sukkot. On the heels of the fast of Yom Kippur comes the festival of Sukkot. On Sukkot we celebrate the fall harvest and recall the time the Israelites spent wandering in the desert. How better to do this than to live in a sukkah? During this pilgrimage festival we leave the permanence of our homes for the fragile shelter of the temporary sukkah. We celebrate the varieties of fall produce with the lulav and etrog. At the end of Sukkot we pray for rain to nourish the winter crops on Sh’mini Atseret. We rejoice in the Torah, completing the annual cycle of Torah readings and begin it again on Simchat Torah.
Please join us to celebrate Sukkot at CBST. Daven with us, eat with us in the sukkah, dance with the Torah, and learn about the strange and wonderful rituals of this holiday. See the schedule below for all service times. Our Open Door policy is supported entirely by contributions—all are always welcome, always without charge. Please consider a gift to CBST that will be meaningful to you and will truly make a difference in the world. You may use this link to make a contribution.
