CBST First Night Annual Community Passover Seder 5779
Registration for the CBST First Night Seder has closed. If you are a CBST member looking for a 1st or 2nd night seder, you can email Judy Hollander at firstname.lastname@example.org to see if there are any CBST members hosting. If you are a non-member, you can utilize the UJA Find-a-Seder Tool to locate a seder near you.
For the first time CBST will be hosting a FIRST night seder following a brief Festival Ma'ariv service. Honor the sweetest traditions of feasting and gathering as a community. CBST's First Night Passover Seder draws on familiar and newly formed texts and rituals. Enjoy a Kosher savory meal (vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available) served in our Wine Family Sanctuary. We promise, this night will be different from all other nights. Bring friends of all faiths and ages - families with children are especially welcome. Together we will sing, pray, and celebrate our way out of Pharaoh's Egypt into greater strength as free people. We look forward to raising the four glasses with you.
For the seder itself, seating is limited and registration is required. Abbreviated Festival Ma'ariv services are open to all. A limited amount of subsidies are available for the seder. To request a subsidy, please contact Ruth at email@example.com with the subject line "CBST Seder Subsidy Request"
Halacha (Jewish law) prohibits eating chametz (leaven) during Pesach. Did you know we are also forbidden to own chametz or even to have it on our premises? Tradition provides a legal procedure: we can sell our chametz and, an hour after the end of the holiday, purchase it back (without actual delivery or pick-up). Use this form to sell your chametz to CBST.
Seder Meal Match for CBST Members - If you are hosting a Seder (1st or 2nd night) and have room at your table, or if you are seeking a Seder at someone's home, contact us and we will do our best to match you! Email Judy Hollander at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to the UJA for providing generous subsidies that allowed many individuals to attend.
