Liberal Minyan Shabbat Morning Service

At our Liberal Shabbat morning services we draw on our inherited traditions in a consciously modern context. Using the Reconstructionist prayer book, Kol Haneshamah, we pray old and new liturgy in both Hebrew and English. We read Torah in a triennial cycle, and there is always a discussion of the week's parashah. Healing prayers are offered at every Torah service, and there is always an opportunity to say Mourner's Kaddish at the end. The service ends at 12:30 pm and is followed by a kiddush lunch. To sponsor a Kiddush, volunteer as either a service leader or Torah reader, or help with morning ritual and food set-up (9:30am) and clean up (after lunch), email Neal Hoffman. To be on the mailing list for a twice-monthly message about upcoming services, e-mail Liz Galst. CBST celebrates Shabbat morning services in a variety of styles. Each is an opportunity to mark smachot (happy occasions), observe lifecycles, and commemorate losses. We engage with prayer and Torah, and provide the means for spiritual and communal connection.
