CBST is New York's only synagogue whose primary-though not exclusive!-mission is to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. Our membership is drawn from all over the New York metropolitan area and represents every Jewish movement and tradition. Whatever your sexual orientation, whatever your relationship to Judaism, wherever you live-you, your family, and your friends are welcome to join us at CBST.
In becoming a member of CBST, you will not only be joining the world's largest GLBT synagogue, you will also become an active participant in one of the New York GLBT community's most vibrant institutions. Volunteer-driven and volunteer-led since our founding in 1973, CBST is an ongoing effort to create an intensely spiritual community that is committed to Judaism in all its forms and to the pursuit of social justice throughout the world.
