Spicy Tsimmes: Ethnic Flavors and Fusion from the Melting Pot of Israel
Honoring Joyce Rosenzweig
Featuring Cantorial Intern Magda Fishman
Join Cantorial Intern Magda Fishman, Israeli composer/pianist/guitarist Gilad Cohen, bouzouki and guitar virtuoso Avram Pengas, the CBST Chorus under the direction of Joyce Rosenzweig, and some of the most exciting instrumentalists today in a not-to-be missed concert of pulsating, breathtakingly beautiful Israeli popular music. Inspired by Yemenite, Middle Eastern, Ethiopian, Ashkenazic and even jazz influences, the Israeli music of today is a dynamic fusion of politics, culture, history, and passionate ideals.
This year’s concert will also honor, for the first time, our incredible Music Director, Joyce Rosenzweig, for her many years of bringing incredible music to our community and supporting the world of Jewish music as teacher, performer, mentor and advocate. Your sponsorship of this concert is a way to thank her for the music that is a hallmark of our congregation.
General admission tickets are available through the Merkin Hall Box Office .
